My Journey to Munnar
On the brisk morning of 29th March 2024, my colleague Shubham and I embarked on an adventurous journey to Munnar. With the clock striking 10:00 AM, we bid farewell to Kochi and eagerly hit the road, anticipating the wonders that awaited us. Little did we know, the journey itself would become an unforgettable experience.
Our first stop was at Cheeyapara Waterfalls, but to our dismay, the falls ran dry, a stark reminder of the seasonal changes. Nevertheless, we indulged in a delectable treat of ayurvedic kheer, lovingly prepared by the local vendors. Each spoonful was a burst of flavors, leaving us craving for more.
Undeterred by the dry spell, we resumed our journey, setting our sights on Viripara Waterfalls. The road to Viripara was an adventure in itself, with its rugged terrain challenging even the most seasoned bikers. But the sight that greeted us at the falls was worth every bump and twist of the road. The cascading water, though modest in flow, cast a spellbinding spell, captivating our senses.
Before reaching Anakulam, we stumbled upon Muppathimoonn Kuthu Waterfalls. Despite the misleading directions in maps, we persevered, navigating through the wilderness to uncover this hidden gem. The journey, though challenging, added an element of thrill to our adventure, making the sight of the cascading waters even more rewarding.
With spirits high, we pressed on towards Anakulam, drawn by the promise of witnessing elephants frolicking in the waters. The sight of these majestic creatures, from playful calves to towering elders, was a sight to behold, etching itself into our memories forever.
Our journey to Munnar took an unexpected turn when we encountered a shortcut beset by wandering elephants. Reluctantly, we retraced our steps, opting for a safer route to our destination. Finally, as the night descended, we arrived in Munnar, weary but exhilarated by the day's adventures.
With a room booked and dinner devoured, we surrendered to the embrace of sleep, dreaming of the wonders that tomorrow's journey held. Indeed, our trip to Munnar was not just a destination but a voyage of discovery, weaving tales of adventure and beauty at every twist of the road.
